V5 Tested Games

Games on which the V5 has been tested
PS2, XBOX, GAMECUBE, PC, PS3, XBOX 360
(NB if a game works well on one of the PS2/XBOX/GameCube consoles, it will probably work as well on the others.)

Some games works perfectly from the force-feedback signal.

In other games it makes less sense to be 'shocked' when the force feedback fires.

In some games the force feedback is triggered at inappropriate times.

The V5 likely works with many more games than are on this list. If you have tried the V5 on a game that it is not on this list, please let us know how well it works!

PS2

It works with MOST ps2 games, firing in time with the vibration of the controllers. These are the ones that Mindwire has so far tested:

Midnight Club 3
- works well, V5 sensitivity setting must be adjusted.

Need For Speed Underground
- works well, V5 sensitivity setting must be adjusted

Mortal Kombat - Deadly Alliance
- not great. V5 fires almost as much from own moves as from opponent's moves.

Mortal Kombat - Deception
- not great. V5 fires almost as much from own moves as from opponent's moves.

Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas
- works reasonably well, V5 sensitivity setting must be adjusted.

Racing Simulation 3
- works great. V5 only fires when you hit the walls or other cars.

Crime Life - Gang Wars
- works reasonably well. MOST of hits are caused by opponents attacking you rather than vice versa. Sensitivity setting must be adjusted for best use.

Gran Turismo 4 - Prologue
- works well. need to set sensitivity setting to '6' so that V5 only fires when you hit walls or other cars.

World War Zero
- works well. 'Controller Attack Buttons' must be configured on the V5 so that the unit doesn't fire due to you firing your own weapon.

The Warriors
- works reasonably well.

F1 Career Challenge
- works great. you get shocked when you crash.

Gun
- works great. 'Controller Attack Buttons' must be configured on the V5 so that the unit doesn't fire due to you firing your own weapon.

Half Life
- Does not work well. Force feedback triggered at inappropriate times & unit cannot be configured to cope with this.

Heros Of The Pacific
- Works great, get shocked when enemy planes shoot at you.
- 'Controller Attack Buttons' must be configured on the V5 so that the unit doesn't fire due to you firing your own weapon.

WRC 3
- works great.

Def jam - Fight For NY
- works great. ( and it is multiplayer. )

State Of Emergency
- Does not work well since force feedback is triggered at inappriopriate times.

Time Splitters / Time Splitters 2
- Works great. Probably the best game to use the V5 with. Multiplayer.
- Timesplitters can be configured to only give force-feedback when you are hit (not when you fire your own weapon).

Star Wars - Battlefront
- Works great. Most of the time force-feedback only happens when you get hit. With some weapons it fires slightly when you shoot your own weapon, but this can be taken care of by using the V5 attack-button settings.

PS3

It works PS3 games compatible with DualShock3, firing in time with the vibration of the controllers. These are the ones that Mindwire has so far tested:

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue
- works well. Sensitivity must be set on '7'

Tom Clany's Rainbox Six Vegas
- does not work. Reports say that this game is going to have DualShock3 support added at some stage, though on our version it does not work.

XBOX

It works with MOST xbox games, firing in time with the vibration of the controllers. If it works on a particular game on the PS2, it will work on the XBOX as well, using the adapter.
These are the games that Mindwire has so far tested:

Time Splitters 2
- works great. (same as PS2 version)

Gamecube

It works with MOST gamecube games, firing in time with the vibration of the controllers. If it works on a particular game on the PS2, it will work on the GAMECUBE as well, using the adapter.
These are the games that Mindwire has so far tested:

R-Racing
- works great, you get shocked only when you crash

Time Splitters 2
- works great. (same as PS2 version)

PC

It works with any game that supports a PC gamepad, and where vibration can be enabled.
These are the games that Mindwire has so far tested:

RS3 racing
- works great. - although setup screens are more awkward than with the consoles. 3-in-1 ps2 adapter must be used. gamepad must be selected, gamepad controls configured, force-feedback enabled, and (preferably) force-feedback sensitivity turned up to 100%

Tomb Raider - Anniversay Demo
Works great. V5 only fires when you are hit. 3-in-1 ps2 adapter must be used, and gamepad must be selected.

Need For Speed - Pro Street
Works great. V5 only fires on force-feedback signals, which generally only happen when you crash. standard RUMBLE wheel must be selected, and gamepad controls configured. force-feedback is turned on by default.

DemonStar
(vertical scrolling shoot-em-up) Works great. V5 sensitivity setting must be turned up to 7 or 8 (full / least sensitive) to prevent the V5 firing continuously / only fire when you are getting shot or are near explosions. (On the V5, do this by pressing MENU, then press UP several times to change to setting '7' or '8', then press MENU again to confirm). A free demo of this game can be downloaded from here

Starlancer
works great, with standard settings.

GTR2
works great, force feedback sensitivity can be varied both in the game and on the V5. At combination that works well is 'full' in the game, and '3-4' on the V5, so that you are only punished for coming off the track.

The following is a list of (other) PC games that support force-feedback (from Wikipedia). These games have not yet been tested with the V5. NB just because they support force-feedback does not guarantee that the force-feedback is triggered at appropriate times, but it means there is a GOOD chance that the game will work.

The Mindwire-V5 works with games specially written to work with it.
Games written to work with the V5 can make use of special electrical effects, accurate hit locations on the body, ability to use the native system's controls rather than a PS2 controller, and multi-player modes (including 2 players on a single V5 unit).
Mindwire is working with developers to deliver these games.
